Yoga is all about the breathing. When you slow down your deep breaths, you will automatically start relaxing. I have always been told to take 5 deep breaths anytime you need to de-stress or deal with anxiety or frustration. It really does work. So the first thing I would do to relieve stress is to take a few deep breaths.
Here are my favorite poses:
The child’s pose! This helps stretch out your back and open up your breathing. It calms the mind and energizes the body.
The Legs-Up-The-Wall pose! Sit as close to the wall as you can with your legs straight up the wall. The lowest part of your back should be as close to the wall as you can get it. This is also a good stretching exercise. And I just learned, this pose can help slow down the aging process.
And finally the Yoga pose that is usually used at the end of each Yoga class. It’s called Savasana! Its the most calming pose of all time. Its simply laying on your back. Doing this while taking in those deep breaths really helps the body to relax.
Doing these Yoga poses everyday can help lower your stress! It works for me!
